Dropping the ADHD-itude!
What many of you might not know is for years I struggled with ADD/ADHD and especially with completing projects . You might say my ideas just flew off the page. Except they didn’t get down on the page to begin with! Lots in my head but not much written.
Diet alone has made a big difference. A nourishing “naughty” diet full of butter, cream, eggs, coconut oil, cod liver oil, soups and stews has helped my focus immensely. Diet is the foundation. And detoxification of heavy metals helped too. But as everyone afflicted with ADD/ADHD knows, there may also be a brain component that needs tuning up and fixing up.
That’s what led me late last year to the Brain Evolution program. I had about zero faith initially. Years ago I’d tried Centerpointe’s Holosync and other meditation programs, but they took an hour or more each day, and, frankly, they bored my ADHD brain out of its gourd! That full hour of listening to rain went on forever and felt like the auditory equivalent of ants crawling all over my body. Besides who has that much time? In contrast, Brain Evolution takes just 30 minutes, and, in my experience, relaxation replaces impatience just about 10 minutes in. It can be done sitting up or lying down, and even while still lying in bed. I play it on my iPod each night lying down when I go to bed as it helps me wind down, fall asleep and stay asleep.
So far I’m a month in to the six month program, sticking with it and already feeling a big difference. More focus, more energy — meaning balanced energy, not crazy energy — better problem solving ability and even much-needed patience. (Still in the ranks of the people who say“Lord, give me patience and give it to me RIGHT NOW but think I’ll soon drop out of that group!) Overall, a greater sense of fulfillment and well being. Dunno if it’s rocketing my IQ, but given that I’m already “too hot to handle” that might be just as well!
